Platform Screen Doors: Also known as barrier doors or safety doors, they are mainly constructed at the platforms of high-speed rail trains and subway trains. They are an intelligent safety system installed at the edge of the platforms of rail transit stations, used to physically separate the waiting area on the platform from the track area where the trains run. The main function of platform screen doors is to ensure safety and enhance comfort. They can effectively prevent passengers from entering or falling onto the tracks, avoid foreign objects falling and affecting train operation, and reduce air convection, noise and dust in the tunnel, thereby improving the station environment.

Platform screen doors come in full-height and semi-height forms. Underground stations mostly adopt full-height types to enhance sealing, while ground or elevated stations may use semi-height types to balance ventilation.

Platform doors can be classified by function as follows:

‌Sliding doors‌: Corresponding to the train doors, they open simultaneously when the train arrives, providing a normal platform for passengers to board and alight. The indicator lights on the doors can show the opening and closing status.

‌Emergency doors‌: Set between the sliding doors, they are closed normally. In emergency situations, they can be opened by staff using a key or passengers pressing the push rod, for evacuation purposes.

‌Fixed doors‌: Non-opening glass doors, serving the functions of sealing and isolation.

‌End doors‌: Located at both ends of the platform, they are usually used for staff entry and exit. In emergencies, they can also serve as evacuation channels.

At present, the platform doors developed by our company have been applied in the following projects:

Beijing Sub-center High-speed Railway Station; Changjiu High-speed Railway Station; Beijing 17th Line Metro Station; Shenyang Metro Line 3; Shenyang Metro Line 6; Urumqi Metro Line 2; Hangde Line 10 Metro Station; Yibin Intercity Intelligent Rail Transit (BRT) T2/T4, etc.
